Beyond The Blue - One
Her small cottage
sand at its feet
was decorated
with coral fans
pink bougainvillea
shells of conch, and
wide green leaves
fruit lay about as organic, edible accents,
a dream place along the Caribbean Sea.
A bust of a dark lady
elegant, powerful,
hair tied in a knot
a swirl of copper color.
rests above
a small bookshelf in the corner,
glass etched for liqueur
candles and fan palm leaves.
Salt coats everything
adding an organic layer
to the stemware
to the pale tile floor,
a piece of fabric covers
a tiny table
pictures
of orange coral
stream
down each side
I feel the healing,
I am a sea baby.
The wind
the weather
calls.
The spray
moistening the hem
of my long black dress,
layering into my hair
piled on top.
This air
adds nutrience
to my skin
sucked dry
of necessary
elements
